We are Mac fanatics who have worked on Macs since 1985 and Mac OS X since its inception. Mac Lab is run by Barry Bourland (Miami, Florida), and Charlie Bourland (Savannah, Georgia).
Barry Bourland is a freelance I.T. consultant and web developer. He works with Linux and Windows, but specializes in Mac OS X. His strengths are in anything Mac and PHP/mySQL web applications. He also serves on the board of directors for the SFWA in Miami. Besides computer-related interests, he keeps busy with windsurfing, biking, and taking care of his beautiful wife and son. He attended Westminster School and the University of New Hampshire.
Charlie Bourland is a retired Management Consultant. He managed the Hartford then St. Louis offices of the KPMG Consulting Department (pka Peat Marwick). Charlie has been intensively involved in genealogy since 1995, including the writing of eight books on ancestors from Kentucky, West Virginia and New England. He teaches a course entitled “Getting Started in Genealogy” at the Lifelong Learning Institute at Armstrong Atlantic State University. He is also an avid tennis player. He attended Woodberry Forest and Yale University.
